The Nordic countries are committed to reducing CO2 and local emissions, and to creating a greener transport system. Emerging digitalised mobility solutions, such as multimodal Mobility as a Service (MaaS) applications or separate services such as car sharing, provide customers an alternative to ownership and use of a private vehicle.
On behalf of the Nordic Climate and Air Pollution Group, and in conjunction with Gaia Consulting, the study investigated the potential of shared mobility services to reduce emissions as well as vehicle kilometres travelled (VKT). Ea Energy Analyses contributed by modelling the development of the passenger vehicle transport sectors in the Nordic countries through to 2050 under different scenarios, using PETRA and passenger vehicles models.
