Seminar on district heating for the Danish Utility Regulator

In March 2023 Ea Energy Analyses taught a seminar for the Danish Utility Regulator, covering a number of themes on district heating. The purpose of the course was to introduce new employees in the Danish Utility Regulator to historical and technical aspects of district heating in Denmark.

The course covered, among others, the following points:

• A historical perspective
• An examination of how district heating is produced and supplied
• An examination of the Danish district heating system
• Pros and cons of district heating in a societal perspective, with parallels to comparable countries
• The future of Danish district heating, with focus on the largest challenges and potentials
