Transport analysis for climate plan

Denmark | November 2018 - January 2019

In order to determine the effects of a variety of potential political initiatives in the road transport sector, Ea Energy Analyses carried out impact assessments and private economy calculations via use of the PETRA model and other excel-based models.

The analysis findings formed part of the climate plan that the Danish political party Enhedslisten presented in February 2019. The plan includes specific actions to be taken towards 2030 that will enable net emissions of Danish greenhouse gasses to reach zero in 2040.

Within road transport, CO2 emissions are reduced by 50% compared to 2005. This is driven by banning the sale of new gasoline and diesel vehicles, providing subsidies for EVs, raising fuel taxes, and implementing road pricing.
