The biogas plant in Solrød south of Copenhagen was commissioned in 2015. It produces biogas based on livestock manure, industrial waste from, among others, the nearby CP Kelco and seaweed from Køge Bay. The gas is transported via a gas pipeline to the gas engine and boiler owned by VEKS and located at the district heating company in Solrød (Solrød Fjernvarme).
Solrød Biogas has been very successful and now produces more biogas than expected. Therefore, Solrød Biogas and VEKS have jointly implemented a project to upgrade the boiler plant at Solrød Fjernvarme, in order for heat production on biogas to be increased.
Ea Energy Analyses assisted in the VEKS project with an assessment of the business case of the investment, and with economic analyses and documentation.
