In March 2008, the Danish government set up the Danish Commission on Climate Change Policy consisting of ten scientists specialising in energy, climate, transport, agriculture and economy. The commission’s task was to study how Denmark can reach the vision of the Danish government that Denmark will be independent of fossil fuels in the future. In September 2010, the Commission submitted its report entitled “Green energy – the road to a Danish energy system without fossil fuels”.
As background reports for “Green energy – the road to a Danish energy system without fossil fuels” issued by the Danish Commission on Climate Change Policy, Ea Energy Analyses and Risø DTU have made a number of scenario analyses of the development of the Danish/Nordic energy system.
