In a recently published report, Ea has mapped the actions for carbon reduction in climate action plans developed by 39 Danish municipalities as a part of the DK2020 project. The 39 municipalities cover approximately 40% of the Danish population, more than 40% of the geographical area and agricultural area, as well as almost half the Danish greenhouse gas emissions. The new climate action plans will therefore have a large influence on how Denmark is able to meet the national target of 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
One of the points of the analysis is that the targets for reduction in the municipalities all together is 77%, which is above the national target.
DK2020 is a partnership between KL, the five Danish regions, and Realdania. CONCITO is the project lead. The report (in Danish) can be downloaded from CONCITO’s website, or on this website.
