Aastha Bhattarai is a consultant at Ea with seven years of extensive experience in national and regional power system modelling, integrated power system planning, grid integration, and capacity building initiatives. She has done national and regional projects across Africa, Asia, and South America.
Her engagements in Ea are mainly focused on long-term energy planning and scenario analysis using Balmorel, power system reliability and risk assessment using SISYFOS, technology catalogue development with a special focus on renewable and carbon capture technologies, data analyses, and drafting outlook reports.
Before joining Ea, she worked at Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) as an engineer at the system planning department, where she was responsible for transmission and generation planning, grid impact assessments, techno-economic analyses, and grid code compliance studies. She has worked with PSS/E, WASP, LEAP and ArcGIS to analyse Nepalese energy system.
Aastha is a DAAD scholar (2019) and holds a M. Eng. in Energy and Environmental Management from Europa Universität Flensburg.
