The 2-day workshop on “Co-optimization of generation and transmission capacity in developing an efficient national power system and long-term energy planning in Pakistan up to 2050” was carried out by the Danish Energy Transition Initiative (DETI) earlier this month. Ea consultant Roberta Orlando presented the latest results of the study, where co-optimisation of transmission and generation capacity expansion has been implemented in the Pakistan model in Balmorel. Interesting insights about the impact of transmission in power system planning were presented and discussed.
Long term power system planning was part of the second day at the workshop, where the focus was on scenarios to support a carbon-neutral power system in 2050.
