The objective of the project was to propose tools and methodologies for system flexibility (e.g. smart generation, storage capacity, demand flexibility) in relation to the expected increse of wind and solar power generation. In addition, there was an assessment of the needs of Ukraine for flexible thermal generation and storage capacity based on policy measures and incentives for balancing of the energy system of Ukraine.
The project was carried out for the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the Danish Energy Agency, and ran from November 2019 to March 2020.
