Peakers and reserve power plants Technology Catalogue

The Danish Energy Agency and Energinet jointly develop technology catalogues for assessments of developments in energy technology. The catalogues are used in connection with model work and other analyses, and are updated continuously to ensure that the best available data is available.

In this project, Ea Energy Analyses was in charge of developing a catalogue for peak and reserve power plants. The work included the following:

• design of a specific variant of the existing guideline for electricity and district heating, taking into account the specific characteristics and service of peak power plants
• development of the technology chapter and data sheets for selected relevant technologies, such as diesel engine farms, natural gas engines, open-cycle gas turbines

The project ran from November 2017 to May 2018.
