Ea Energy Analyses is involved in an initiative on planning of renewable energy integration in the Vietnamese electricity sector, one of the activities undertaken within the cooperation between Vietnam and the Danish Energy Agency.
As a part of the project, a draft model for the Vietnamese power system has been set up in the Balmorel modelling framework, and presented to the Vietnamese power system experts during a one-week training course in Hanoi on October 19-23, 2015. The training was next step after the 13 July 2015 workshop about “Model based scenario-analyses of low carbon development pathways for Vietnam”, also held in Hanoi.
The objective of the workshop and the training was to enable a group of Vietnamese experts to understand the method of scenario analyses and the features and capabilities of the Balmorel modelling framework, which is particularly useful for planning for fluctuating energy sources such as solar and wind energy.
