Ea Energy Analysis has carried out a system adequacy and reliability study for the Lithuanian National Control Commission for Prices and Energy (NCCPE / VKEKK) in association with Ekotermija.
The study provides information on whether there are sufficient electricity supply options to satisfy demand by providing a retrospective look at system adequacy in 2012 and considering how expected developments in the Lithuanian power system would influence system adequacy in the future.
In addition, a model has been developed (based on the SISYFOS model created by the Danish Energy Agency) for the NCCPE, allowing the NCCPE to conduct annual reliability assessments of the Lithuanian power system in the future.
The study has been carried out in the Balmorel and SISYFOS modelling frameworks.
