Ea Energy Analyses has been assisting Elering – the Estonian system operator – to identify and provide quantified analysis of long-term energy scenarios for Estonia in the context of Nordic-Baltic region and pan-European developments.
The work was carried out in close co-operation with seven expert groups, each representing different fields of expertise, namely energy consumption patterns; energy carriers; heating and cooling; energy generation scenarios; security of supply; socio-economic and environmental impacts; and R&D aspects.
The impact analyses of the scenarios were modelled in Balmorel and Stream, and they comprise identification and quantification of major external factors affecting Estonian energy sector as well as quantitative assessment of the technical and commercial consequences of the scenarios, including security of supply.
