Integration of wind power in the energy system

Ea Energy Analyses has conducted an analysis of the integration of wind power in the energy system for the Danish Wind Turbine Owners’ Association and Vindenergi Danmark.

The analysis shows that the increased wind power in the system will lead to a growing gap between the electricity prices captured by wind power and the average electricity price. The gap represents the system integration costs of wind power in the energy system.

Lower CO2 emission from transport in 2020 than previous expected

A new analyse carried out by Ea Energy Analyses on the future CO2 emission shows that the CO2 emission will be lower than previous expected. The reduction is primarily due to more energy-efficient vehicles.

According to the government’s Climate Plan, by 2020 there will be a shortfall of approx. 4 million tonnes in order to achieve the goal of 40% reduction. If the results from this analysis are taken into account, the deficit will be reduced to approx. 2 million. tonnes of CO2 in 2020. This provides a socio-economic saving of about 1400 million kr. in 2020.
