Sophisticated modelling of the hourly dispatch for the Chinese grid
Chinese wind power is rapidly developing and the scale of wind farms is increasing. The new wind energy development target in China is 100GW in 2020 and wind energy construction plans for seven 10GW wind farms have been announced in 2009.
Ea Energy Analyses is taking part in a project led by the China Electric Power Research Insititute (CEPRI) and with participation of the Heilongjiang Electric Power Company. The project aims to develop scenarios for hourly dispatch in the Heilongjiang power system in order to analyse wind power integration in the province.
Experts trained in using the Balmorel model
A representation of the Heilongjiang power system is being developed in the Balmorel model for use in the analyses. A core component of the project is training of the experts from CEPRI and the Heilongjiang Electric Power Company in using the Balmorel model for future analyses. The project is supported by the Sino-Danish Wind Energy Development Program (WED).
The projected started in November 2009 and will be completed in May 2010.
