Integration of fluctuating generation using coordinated control of demand and wind turbines - the island of Bornholm as a case

In this project it was analysed how consumption can be used to balance the electricity system at the island of Bornholm (Denmark). The amount of electric heating which may be controlled was mapped, and the possibilities of using electricity to heat water in the district heating grids at Bornholm were analysed.


The project was supported by Østkraft. It was launched in December 2006 and completed in October 2007.
