RECaBS - Renewable Energy Costs and Benefits to Society

The project "Renewable Energy Costs and Benefits to Society" was initiated by the International Energy Agency's Implementing Agreement on Renewable Energy Technology Deployment (RETD).

The primary objective of the RECaBS project was to estimate the costs and benefits of electricity from renewable energy sources compared to conventional technologies in a fully documented and transparent way. The economic values of various externalities - air emissions, system integration, security of supply, employment - were included.

The web-based interactive REcalculator was a main output from the project. The project was launched in November 2006 and concluded in October 2007.
