Emission factors for electricity and district heating

As part of their planning, Copenhagen Energy (now HOFOR) is undertaking socio-economic and environmental assessments of various supply alternatives. This, among other things, applies to evaluation of new heat supply areas for instance in Nordhavn. For these evaluations, Copenhagen Energy needs assessments of the environmental impacts from increased use of electricity and district heating in the short term and longer term. The emission factors are used to calculate CO2 emissions for district heating and district cooling as well as for electric driven supply alternatives in the form of different heat pump types.

Based on the model and results from "Long-term heat plan for Greater Copenhagen 2", Ea Energy Analyses at the beginning of 2012 was undertaking a calculation of emission factors for electricity and district heating in 2015, 2025 and 2035.
